Do you have a frontend?

No, Skillties is a comprehensive backend solution with its own AI. Think of Skillties as a prefabricated house that comes with a solid foundation. You only need to decide on the sizes of the rooms and the design of the kitchen. We provide full support throughout this project.

How do you deal with data privacy?

We are hosting in Germany on Microsoft Azure.

When using Skillties, none of your employee's personal data (such as name, job title, etc.) is stored. Instead, we pull display names via API only.

How do you detect the skills in my company?

We index a wide range of learning resources, both internal and external. Our AI then constructs a comprehensive skill ontology from these indexed resources. This ontology is highly detailed, establishing semantic relationships between each skill. For example, it can determine that the skill "preparing sushi" is less related to "grilling burgers" than to "cooking Japanese rice."

This is crucial because skills are essentially linguistic representations of ideas. By measuring the semantic or linguistic distance between words, we can address multiple industry issues, such as recognizing that "Agile Mindset" and "Agile Leadership" are correlated.

In practice, this is vital because people often use different terms to describe nearly identical skills.

How do you help me to create job profiles?

Most solutions come with pre-defined skill lists and job profiles (sometimes referred to as skill profiles). We believe that every company is unique. For example, a Marketing Manager at your company needs to have specific product skills relevant to what your company is selling. That's why, the concept of a universally applicable Marketing Manager skill set is nothing more than a marketing gimmick in the Skill Taxonomy industry. In fact, many of those pre-defined job profiles are derived simply by analyzing job ads. We approach this 100% differently at Skillties.

At Skillties, a designated owner of the job profile creates a skill profile through our recommendation engine. This engine, powered by our AI, recommends the appropriate skills for the job profile within your company. The progress takes roughly 5 minutes.

How does the AI know which skills to recommend? It continuously indexes and learns from relevant skills, learning content, and their relationships.

Do you have the future skills?

We define future skills as whatever your company considers essential for the future. For one company or job role, these skills could be vastly different from another. That's why we analyze external blogs and RSS feeds that are specifically important for your industry. We use this information to identify emerging skills and alert the job profile owners accordingly. If they believe that our recommendations are fitting, they can simply add them to the corresponding skills. Doing so, we keep your job profiles always up-to-date and future-proven.

How much does your software cost?

We offer flexible solutions: from providing access to our backend and AI through APIs, to supporting you in developing your use cases, including integrations and front-end development. We need to understand your requirements better to first give a first estimate.

How does the experience for the normal employee look like?

We believe that end-users should have a seamless experience directly within MS Teams or Slack, rather than logging into another learning system. Our bot recommends the most relevant learning content based on identified skill gaps. If users are not satisfied with the provided learning resource, they can easily provide feedback to the bot. Think of Skillties as your Digital HR Development Assistant :-)
